MESOTHELIOMA

.

Mesothelioma illness is a rare form of cancer that destroys mesothelium, a medium that covers and protects mostly the internal organs of the body. Usually it started on the pleura area (the lining around the lungs) or peritoneum (lining around the abdomen). This is typically caused by asbestos exposure. A history of asbestos exposure at work is reported in about 70 to 80 percent of all cases of the disease. Standard treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

Mesothelioma is a noncancerous or malignant tumor affecting mesothelium that covers internal organs of human being. Most cases of this condition starts in the lining of the lungs or around the abdomen. Fibroma is also a type of benign mesothelioma, and malignant mesothelioma which is a cancerous mesothelioma. This condition can be named on whether where it occurs from where it started like if its in lungs area, then it is called mostly malignant pleural mesothelioma. This is because it started in the lining around the lungs another name will be called if it is on another area.

People expose on asbestos environment usually develope a malignant mesothelioma condition. Benign mesothelioma doesn't appear to have any relationship to asbestos exposure.

Mesothelium covers the internal organ of our body. It has two layers of cells; first layer surrounds the organ and another layer that surrounds the first layer. This membrane produces a lubricant fluid that is released between these layers to provide the heart and lungs to move and to glide easily against adjacent structures.

It has different names, depending on where it is located in the body. A peritoneum is the mesothelial tissue that protects the organ in every human's abdominal cavity. Another memberane that surrounds the lungs and wall of the chest cavity is called the pleura. while another membrane that protects and covers our heart is called pericardium. Mesothelial tissue surrounding the male internal reproductive organs are called tunica vaginalis testis, and another organ call tunica serosa uteri that covers interal organs for ladies.
